- Ingredients -

With a tweak here, and a slight modification there, I came up with something that satisfies many dermatological needs with one recipe. Read more about how I created this lovely product.

Here's what's NOT in Simply Savvy products: alcohol, dyes, or perfumes.

Here are just some of things I have learned about the naturally wonderful ingredients in this all-purpose, for all-people, all-natural formula:

  • Beeswax - Anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral, beeswax offers protection against irritants, and gives this salve staying-power while allowing skin to breathe (unlike many moisturizers which actually seal and suffocate)

  • Shea butter - a.k.a. "Skin Superfood," moisturizing, reduces inflammation, skin-softening and strengthening. It is non comedogenic meaning it will not clog pores!

  • Virgin Coconut oil - Because of its low molecular weight, it is only slightly comedogenic and can be absorbed rapidly and deeply into to the skin to deliver delicious moisture and anti-microbial (a.k.a. acne-fighting) properties

  • Aloe Vera Gel - I use a special non-sticky formula of aloe vera gel with seaweed extract as a thickener instead of the usual guar or xanthan gums. Aloe Vera Gel has antioxidants, vitamins A & C, enzymes that gently exfoliate the skin for a healthy glow, is anti-inflammatory on oil glands, moisturizing, slows signs of aging, contains salicylic acid which is used for treating acne-prone skin

  • Sweet Almond Oil - Protective from sun damage and signs of aging, contains vitamin E, beneficial to acne-prone skin, can relieve eczema and under-eye circles, has cleansing properties, hydrating, healing to damaged skin and scars, antioxidative powerhouse

  • Essential oils - For now, I have chosen to use the wonderfully safe, almost universally beneficial Lavender oil, with its amazing topical attributes: anti-inflammatory, skin-repairing, disinfecting, and of course, smells like a meadow.

If you have a man in your life that deserves some savvy goodness, just ask and I can add a more woodsy essential oil to their salve, ensuring it smells like lumberjacks and valor.
