A Savvy Note

This is no ordinary moisturizer. While 4oz. of your average lotion may last you a couple of weeks (or less if you're like us), this intense formula will easily last you double, maybe even triple that. So keep that in mind when ordering!

Uses

  • Diaper Cream

  • Baby lotion

  • Body butter

  • Belly butter for pregnant women

  • Occasional face cream (start 1/week: it's intense!)

  • Nighttime eye cream

  • Hand lotion

  • Dry skin therapy

  • Eczema

  • After sun repair

  • Chapped lips

  • Cracked heels

  • Corns and calluses

  • Scar softener

  • Reduces appearance of age spots

  • Soothes insect bites and scrapes

  • Hair product (I have a male customer who has incredibly sensitive skin can finally keep his hair in place! Did NOT foresee that use!)

  • Eye makeup remover (I melt a pea size amount between my fingers and massage it over closed eyes/lashes til makeup loosens, then wipe off with cotton ball).

  • Amazing healing properties in these ingredients!

There's a salve for that!

The Savvy Story

Simply put, the origin of Simply Savvy Balm is this: desperation breeds creativity.

When our first child was born, we were broke. We were using cloth diapers (a GODSEND when you run out and all you have to do is the laundry!), and pinching pennies like nobody's business. Cloth diaper-safe salve is spendy but necessary. So out of my aforementioned desperation, I ran to Pinterest for inspiration!  I found some great recipes and got busy.

Living in Minnesota, we face some harsh winters, so often I used different versions of the salve as a body butter or an intensive hand cream as well. But the first trials were a little greasy, so back to the drawing board for a more all-purpose salve.

Meanwhile, my postpartum hormones were all over the place, and of course my skin was also ridiculously sensitive, and in need of some seriously stripped-down (simple, natural ingredients only) moisture. SO again, I adjusted my formula to be cloth-diaper friendly, gentle on Baby's bum, sensitive but strong for momma's face and body, and long-lasting in the harsh mid-western cold.

Another challenge faced was texture. All these fabulous ingredients are also pretty intense and they made for a dense blend, which became even harder to smooth onto skin in the cooler winter temps. Solution: add Aloe Vera Gel and WHIP IT.

Result: a smooth, rich, sumptuous salve that will lovingly coat and melt into your skin, providing long-lasting, penetrating, therapeutic moisture.

A beautifully simple, balmy kind of love.

Hoping you love it as much as we have!
